Textile artist Mimi Damrauer had always wanted to make her own fabric—and she made hers from paper! By painting multiple layers of acrylic paint and using stamps she carves herself, she arranges colors and patterns, then stitches the pieces together like a quilt. She then lays her finished “blanket” over a wood panel, creating bold, deceptively simple pieces with lots of color and texture. Come chat with her about her work.
