Husband and Wife team Marilyn and Terry Alexander are a driving force in mixed media art. Known for their southwest-inspired shamans, horses, and other spirit figures, they first combine steel and fused glass, then add a patina and acrylic paint, creating unforgettable sculptures rich in color and texture, which hang, stand, or welcome us in. And their newest work integrates bronze sculpture into a near-perfect artistic vision. As for making the work, she prefers the metal work and he goes for the glass, but whatever role they play, their side-by-side studios are places of magic.
